This research, that the researcher aims to study will respond to two questions that related to the efficiency of health care service provision in the US. First, the research will answer the question on what are the impacts on shifting from service oriented to outcome-oriented approach, and secondly, on what are the best strategies that will facilitate this shift in healthcare service management. The managements that are used today within health facilities are entangled in a battle as they evaluate the best possible approach to improve the quality and quantity of healthcare within the organizations. However, it is clear for the researcher that a wide range of organizations have focused primary on increasing their service delivery while ignoring the outcomes that such strategies achieve. In view of this problem, the researcher presents opinions written by a number of schola rs who have pointed out that measuring services is an inefficient way of assessing healthcare achievements. Essentially, there is need to move towards outcome-oriented healthcare systems to ensure that organizations can be credit their performance on their achievements rather than the services they offer. In addition, the researcher also states that there is evidence that the health outcomes within majority of the US health facilities are dissatisfying. Quality service has yet to be achieved and access to health is still an issue of concern.
